On September 28, The Morton Arboretum welcomed 330 guests to the Evergreen fundraising gala in support of the institution’s mission to plant and protect trees locally, regionally and globally. Peter Sagal, host of the NPR radio show “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!”, emceed the event that raised $477,000.00. Evergreen advances the Arboretum’s leading-edge science, benefiting trees as they face increased threats. The event supported preservation of the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres, which encompass world-renowned tree collections and a restored 100-acre prairie. Guests welcomed to the Arboretum for a festive fall evening that included live music by the Sam Fazio Quartet and fare by Blue Plate. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on several live and silent auction prizes, including Glamping at the Arboretum, Slumber with the Trolls and a Kentucky Derby VIP Experience. – Photos by Marcello Rodarte
