The Misericordia Women’s League embraced the unique flavor of college basketball in the month of March in hosting March Madness Misericordia last night at the Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge. From flat-screen television sets to a theater-sized projectors, event organizers had March Madness covered from every angle, as guests were encouraged to adorn themselves in their favorite athletic attire. Co-chaired by Katy Lee, Gretchen McCarty, and Theresa McClear, March Madness Misericordia was held to raise money for Misericordia, a north-side campus that currently provides housing to over 600 adults and children with special needs. Women’s League President Liz Sheehan from La Grange, said the event, which raised $217,000 last year, was received so well that the League decided to reënact the March Madness theme this year.
