Roughly 400 west suburban residents trekked to the Lakeview neighborhood for GIVEchella, the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club’s (HJWC) annual benefit, at Theater on the Lake on April 9. Inspired by the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., GIVEchella simulated an outdoor music festival inside Theater on the Lake, employing various elements to create a desert ambience. HJWC president Michelle Riley and benefit managing co-chairs Alicia O’Brien, Stephanie Tuthill and Bridget Nagel then prepared to unveil the main event. Nagel announced that the club had received more than 30 grant applications from non-profit organizations across the Chicago metropolitan area, requesting more than $800,000.00 in funding. – Photos by Marcello Rodarte
